How Do I Find My Organization’s CAGE Code?

A Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code is a unique identifier assigned by the U.S. government to entities that do business with the government. The CAGE code is used by federal agencies to identify contractors and grant recipients and to track procurement activities.

If your organization is registered with the System for Award Management (SAM), you can find your organization’s CAGE code by following these steps:

SAM CAGE CODE

Log in to the SAM website: To access your organization’s information in SAM, you will need to log in using your username and password. If you don’t have a SAM account, you can create one on the SAM website.

Navigate to the Entity Information page: After logging in, click on the “Entity Information” link in the navigation menu. This will take you to the Entity Information page, which contains information about your organization, including your CAGE code.

View your CAGE code: Your CAGE code should be displayed at the top of the Entity Information page, along with other information about your organization. The CAGE code is usually a five-character alphanumeric code that starts with a letter and is followed by four numbers.

If you can’t find your organization’s CAGE code in SAM, you can contact the Federal Service Desk at 1-866-606-8220 or via email at support@fsd.gov. You can also visit the Federal Service Desk’s website to submit a request for assistance.

It’s important to note that a CAGE code is only assigned to entities that have been registered with SAM. If your organization has not yet registered with SAM, you will need to complete the registration process before you can receive a CAGE code. The registration process involves providing information about your organization, including its legal business name, address, phone number, email address, business type, and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.

In addition to finding your CAGE code in SAM, you can also find it by searching the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) or by contacting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The FPDS is a database that contains information about federal contracts, including information about contractors and their CAGE codes. You can search for your organization’s CAGE code by entering your organization’s name or other identifying information into the FPDS search tool.

If you prefer to contact the DLA directly, you can reach out to the DLA’s Information Operations (J-6) office at 1-800-352-3572 or via email at dla.mil.cage@dla.mil. The DLA’s Information Operations office is responsible for maintaining the CAGE code database and can assist you with finding your organization’s CAGE code.

In conclusion, a CAGE code is a unique identifier assigned by the U.S. government to entities that do business with the government.

You can find your organization’s CAGE code by logging into SAM and navigating to the Entity Information page, by searching the Federal Procurement Data System, or by contacting the Defense Logistics Agency’s Information Operations office.
